SAME DAY CROWNS, IMPLANT CROWNS, AND BRIDGES
With the advanced technology of our Cerec CAD/CAM digital scanner and mill, it allows us to scan, design, and fabricate a porcelain crown/bridge in office. In just 2 hours you will leave with your permanent restoration. This reduces a 3-week process to just one appointment.
INLAYS/ONLAYS
The dentist will first prep the tooth, a digital impression is then taken with the Cerec scanner. The design will be created using CAD software. A milling machine shapes the inlay or onlay from a single block of porcelain. The restoration is glazed to look more natural before being permanently cemented in your mouth to complete your smile.
VENEERS
Veneers can be placed if a patient is unhappy with their smile and wants to patch up slightly crooked, stained, or overall damaged teeth. Veneers are a good option for patients that whitening doesn’t work and their teeth remain stained/discolored or they want to cover a gap or gaps between their teeth.
IMPLANT RESTORATIONS
Dental implants are the most realistic tooth replacements available. Implants begin with a surgically placed post that is securely anchored into the jawbone by your oral surgeon. The bone surrounding the anchor will heal in approximately 6 months. The patient will the return to Dunlap Dental to have an intraoral scan done. With a completely solid and stable anchor point, an artificial tooth is then installed in 2-3 weeks of the scan. The end result is a new artificial tooth that is virtually indistinguishable from a natural tooth, both from an aesthetic and functional standpoint. In cases where several teeth are missing, dental implants can also act as the teeth to which bridges are fixed, again perfectly mimicking the function of healthy, natural teeth.
BRIDGES
Bridges are another option for a natural-looking solution for tooth loss. The dentist bonds the crowns to your natural teeth (abutments) on either side of the gap, and the artificial teeth (pontics) fill in the space between. Bridges can be great to restore chewing and speech function (missing teeth can make it difficult to eat or speak properly), prevent neighboring teeth from shifting into the gap left behind by missing teeth, and help prevent bone loss from the jaw in the space left by the missing teeth or tooth.
DENTURES AND PARTIALS
Dentures and partials are removable dental appliances that replace missing teeth. Patients who have lost some or all of their teeth, whether it be from decay, an accident or disease, will benefit from dentures or partials.
NIGHT GUARDS/SPORTS GUARDS
Guards are used to protect the teeth from damage by cushioning the effects of clenching or grinding while sleeping. This cushion barrier helps to prevent chipped teeth, worn-down teeth, or sports injuries. Bruxism, or teeth grinding, is a common condition affecting about 1 in 4 people. By grinding you teeth, their structure starts to wear down and the enamel begins to fade. This is the leading cause of tooth trauma and a very significant cause for tooth loss and gum recession. A custom guard will be molded for your specific teeth to ensure a proper and comfortable fit.
Opalescence Whitening
Your smile is one of the most important features on your face and having it at its whitest and brightest can illuminate your entire face. A bright smile can raise your self-confidence and leave a memorable impression wherever you go. While many over the counter teeth bleaching treatments can give you the initial results you are looking for, the results often fade after a few weeks because they lack the strength of an in house dental tooth whitening process and the expertise of a cosmetic dentist.
